Up Close and Personal with the Marching Raiders
Marching Raider Invades Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp
Since 1966, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, located in Twin Lake, MI, has been providing cultural enrichment to more than 300,000 elementary, junior high, and high school students with diverse programs in music, art, dance, and drama. This year, one of our own Raiders, Daliea Lee, invaded the camp grounds. She came to learn and learn she did!
Daliea was awarded a full scholarship for two weeks. There, she attended classes in music to further develop her skills with playing the Clarinet, which included technique and sectionals. She also rehearsed with all musicians at the camp which included people from many different locations. It wasn’t all work and no play. She also enjoyed swimming in the beautiful lake and pool, the museum, meeting new people and making friends, attending concerts and plays, and the ice cream!
When asked if she would like to go back and would recommend Blue Lake to someone else, Daliea said, “Yes. I would recommend it to others, because you can explore and meet new friends. I learned a lot. Most importantly, I learned to keep going and never give up. I would love to go back and show them that I have improved.”
Always looking positive and forward, as every Ecorse Community High School Student must do, Daliea is the first of many to take Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp by storm.
